World's Top 10 Fastest SUV's in 2012

World's Top 10 Fastest SUV's in 2012

10)- 2012 Chevy Trailblazer SS
The Chevy Trailblazer SS is durable enough to double as a great family car, but with a 6.0-liter, 395-horsepower V-8 engine, comparable to that of a Corvette, this SUV will hit 60 in 6.3 seconds and still give you great control of the road. With a starting cost under $40,000, you'll get near-luxury value at a reasonable price.

9)-2012 Cadillac Escalade
Offering ample cabin room, great storage space, attractive design and reliable performance, the Cadillac Escalade is not only the largest luxury SUV on the road but one of the fastest. It hits zero to 60 in 6.5 seconds and comes with a 6.2 liter V8 engine that cranks 403 horsepower, a behemoth that moves like the wind.

8. 2012 Infiniti FX 50S
Another luxury entrant, the Infiniti FX50 S is trying to lure BMW's clientele with a 390 horsepower SUV that goes from zero to 60 in five seconds. Not as supercharged as some of its competitors, but priced starting at $43,000, there's more bang for less bucks.

7. Audi Q7 V12 TDI
The Q7 is one of the most impressive models Audi has ever offered, and the V12 TDI is the most powerful version offered. These two facts about this SUV is why German tuner, Fostla, decided this would be the car to receive one of their tuning kits. Their latest package jumps the Q7’s output to an amazing 600 HP, as well as tweaks its look to match.
For 3500 euro ($4,500 at the current rates), Fostla will cover a customer’s Q7 in a cool PWF foil in diamond black matte, tint the front and back lights, and tone the discs to between 55% and 85%. For an extra 6000 euro ($7700 at the current rates), customers will get a new set of 11x23 inch matte powder coated side Mansory C5 wheels with 315/25R23 tires in combination with 15 mm front and 30 mm back track plates.
To take care of the Audi Q7’s standard 500 HP, Fostla tricked out the 6.0-liter V12 engine with an ECU upgrade to allow it to push out 600 HP and 737 lb-ft of torque. The 0-60 mph sprint will now be made in 5.5 seconds. This added bonus will set customers back an additional $4,500.

6)- 2012 Range Rover Sport 5 Supercharged
A recognized brand for quality, Range Rover adds speed with the Sport 5 Supercharged, armed with a 510 horsepower, V8 engine that gets to 60 in 5.9 seconds. With luxury specs, however, comes a luxury starting price of $115,000.

5)- 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8
The fastest model Jeep makes, the Grand Cherokee SRT8 goes full-throttle with a 420 horsepower, 6.4 lilter Hemi V8 engine that streaks from zero to 60 in 4.8 seconds. Priced around $45,000, this is a less-expensive alternative to the luxury SUV brands.

4)- 2012 Mercedes Benz ML 63 AMG
Combining luxury, speed and quality, the Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG sports a 6.3 liter V8 engine and 503 horsepower, hitting 60 mph in 4.8 seconds. With a maximum speed of 155 mph, it's not quite as fast as the top-end SUVs, but for $91,000, it's fast enough.

3)- 2012 Porsche Cayenne Turbo X
Sleek and sporty, the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S has been a mainstay in speedy SUVs for years, and this model's twin-turbocharged, 4.8 liter V8 engine packs 550 horsepower for a zero to 60 run of 4.4 seconds. At a starting price of $104,700, it's one of the most expensive SUVs on the market.

2)- 2012  BMW X5M
Putting its "Ultimate Driving Machine" tagline to the test, the BMW X5 M comes equipped with a twin-turbo V-8 engine that generates an astounding 555 horsepower, which means zero to 60 in 4.5 seconds. In addition to quality and performance, BMW's zero maintenance program means you'll likely only ever have to pay for new tires.

1)- 2012 BMW X6M
Starting at a whopping $88,900 in 2010, the BMW X6 M stakes its claim to speed with 555 horsepower and zero to sixty in 4.3 seconds. According to Edmunds, this is the fastest SUV they've ever tested, with only the Porsche Cayenne coming close.

  1. mobil SUV keren murah - Proving once again that reduced mass is at least as important as horsepower in all-around performance, the new Turbo’s performance rivals the old Turbo S’s (which had 550 hp and 553 lb-ft of torque) at the test track: 0 to 60 mph in 4.0 seconds, the quarter-mile in 12.4 at 113 mph. The Turbo S hit those marks in 4.1 and 12.6 at 112, respectively; the previous Cayenne Turbo needed 4.8 seconds to reach 60 mph and 13.3 seconds for the quarter, at 107 mph.

Seduced, as usual, by the hydraulic torque surge of the Cayenne’s twin-turbo V-8, we achieved 15 mpg during our driving. But it’s clear that a more temperate use of the throttle would produce better results. Beyond three different driver-selected modes (normal, sport, and off-road), the eight-speed Tiptronic is programmed to adapt to the driver’s throttle behavior and adjust its shifts accordingly. Regardless of the chosen mode, the transmission’s shift response rivals that of many dual-clutch automatics.
